Environmental Protection Advisory Board

The seven members of the Environmental Protection Advisory Board (EPAB) of Upper Dublin Township are volunteers (re)appointed for a period of three years by the Board of Commissioners. Its membership represents a range of professional expertise and community interests.

The EPAB either initiates or upon request advises the Board of Commissioners on issues relating to protecting the quality of water, land and air resources. These efforts involve such matters as stormwater and erosion control, land use, waste disposal, recycling and chemical usage.

The EPAB reviews all township development plans and conducts necessary site investigations to ensure development is consistent with sound environmental criteria. As part of its public outreach in the form of surveys and interaction with other area individuals and groups, the EPAB learns of specific or general environmental concerns for which appropriate action is recommended to the Board of Commissioners.

The EPAB has compiled a list of environmental "talking points" for developers to discuss when presenting a proposed land development plan to the board: EPAB Talking Points

Minutes

Minutes for meetings of the EPAB are available as downloadable PDFs. Minutes are posted after they have been approved and signed. Generally agendas are not available.

The Upper Dublin EPAB members and family celebrated Earth Day 2017 with their annual "Clean The Stream" event along Pine Run in the Fort Washington Business Park. This year we filled more than fifteen industrial sized waste bags with debris from the stream, not counting the two CRT monitors and industrial sink pulled from the area.

Did you know that you can recycle lithium batteries and cellphones in the UD Township Building lobby 24/7? And be sure to follow the UD EPAB Facebook page for updates regarding Montgomery County's hazardous waste and electronic waste recycling dates!
