Work Hours: Any schedule posted is dependent on weather and equipment operations. Work will be conducted between the hours of 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Temporary “No Parking” signs (valid between work hours) will be posted by our Highway Department at least three (3) days in advance of the actual work being done.

2026 Mill & Overlay Program Streets & Schedule

Resident Access & Road Closures

While milling or paving may not begin immediately on your street, the contractor will typically start operations at 7:00 AM. Residents are strongly encouraged to move vehicles out of driveways and off the street before that time. 

During the milling process (whereby the existing blacktop is removed from the street), you will be able to move your vehicle in and out of your driveway with relatively short notice, except for when the milling equipment is working directly in front of your property (there will be a wait time of up to 30 minutes). Tack coat (blacktop primer) will be applied to the road surface before paving begins, and residents should avoid driving on the street until paving is complete. 

The paving process itself may cause delays of several hours to ensure the new blacktop is properly installed, compacted, and cooled to prevent damage to both the roadway and your vehicle. After paving is finished, please avoid making sharp turns when entering or exiting your driveway for a few days to help reduce the appearance of tire marks on the new surface. 

If there are unusual circumstances that warrant special consideration for driveway access, please contact the Upper Dublin Township Public Works Department as soon as possible.

About Mill & Overlay Resurfacing Program 

The Mill & Overlay Resurfacing Program is a process by which old existing blacktop is completely removed (milling) and a new blacktop surface is laid on top (overlay). This process is designed to last approximately 20-30 years, although less intensive resurfacing treatments may be applied every 7-10 years to keep the roads in good condition. 

A bid-awarded contractor and the Township's Public Works Department forces will be completing work for the respectively listed streets in the tables above. The contractor and the Township will make every effort to minimize inconvenience to our residents during this project. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Work will be conducted between the hours of 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Temporary “No Parking” signs (valid between work hours) will be posted by our Highway Department at least one (1) day in advance of the actual work being done.

2026 Nova Chip Program Streets & Schedule

PECO Nova Chip Streets

Resident Access & Road Closures

Streets will be posted with “No Parking” signs to notify residents prior to milling or paving. The Nova Chip application process requires closure of at least one traffic lane at a time, so through traffic will be delayed or prohibited as needed. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will be accommodated as possible, but delays could occur during the application. 

Township staff asks residents to refrain from on-street parking and minimize driveway traffic during this time so crews can work quickly and efficiently. Township inspectors will be on-site monitoring all work.

About Nova Chip

Nova Chip is an ultra-thin friction course which will seal your street as well as provide a new road surface. The process consists of an ultra-thin application of a gap-graded Hot Mix wearing course placed over a heavy application of polymer modified emulsion by a specialized machine in a single pass. The product is excellent for use on high traffic areas due to its ability to be quickly re-opened to traffic. This system has a proven life of 10 – 15 years, under all types of conditions, making this material an important tool for preserving roads and highways.

2026 Line Painting Program Streets & Schedule

Resident Access & Road Closures

Although work may not be done on your particular street until later in the day, the contractor will usually begin work at 7:00 AM. You are strongly encouraged to avoid driving over the lines for the first 2 hours following the painting. 

This work will not impact traffic or parking, and the paint should only require a few hours to dry.
