Upper Dublin's Elder Grove | 2024
The Upper Dublin Township Elder Grove
In the wake of the 2021 tornado that struck our Township, the Upper Dublin Historical Commission initiated the Elder Grove Project. The project helps us celebrate the heritage of our trees, our oldest living species which shape our lovely physical environment and nurture our souls.
The Commission put out a call for nominations of old trees, and the community responded enthusiastically. Experts at the Temple Ambler Arboretum helped us identify and estimate the age of nominees, until we narrowed down a select group of the oldest ones. These trees became the Elder Grove.
The Historical Commision would like to thank the many organizations who collaborated on this project, and especially all the families and individual citizens who nominated their beloved trees.
