Upper Dublin Township seeks a qualified individual for the position of Equipment Operator in our Sanitation Department. Responsibilities of the position will involve, but are not limited to: collecting refuse from township residents, loading refuse onto sanitation trucks, lifting bulky objects onto trucks, driving trucks, operating heavy equipment, some grass cutting/landscaping, performance of routine maintenance and light repairs of trucks and equipment, ice and snow removal and related duties as required.
Candidates should be responsible, have the ability to perform heavy manual labor for long periods under adverse weather conditions and perform a variety of physical tasks in the Township’s maintenance and repair operations.
A valid Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement is required or a Class “B” with the ability to obtain a Class “A” by the end of your six month probationary period, with support provided by the Township. Candidates with an existing Class A license will take precedence over those with a Class B license. Due to the type of work, this job will require working overtime when asked and may involve long hours of mandatory overtime during snow storms.
The union equipment operator position has a four-step hourly salary range over a three-year period. The position has a six-month probationary period and starts with a probationary rate of $30.37 per hour.
