The Public Works Department of Upper Dublin Township ensures that all of the infrastructures within the Township are maintained and secured.
LOCAL ROAD
REPAIRS
Route 309 Update 7/13/08:
Butler Pike off ramp on SB 309 and Susquehanna Road on ramp to SB 309 remain closed. Cedar Hill Road Bridge over SR
309 remains closed. Detour signs are in effect. McKean Road and Tennis Avenue are reduced to a single lane at SR 309
until further notice. Traffic signals are in effect. Southbound Route 309 is reduced to a single lane for the
duration of the project from Bethlehem Pike to Norristown Road.
Off peak day and night lane closures may occur at various locations.
Paving of Jenkintown Road:
Milling and Paving of Jenkintown Road from Township Line Road in Abington to Limekiln Pike in Upper
Dublin will begin on 7/16/08. Milling and paving will be done during night-time hours beginning after 6 PM. Base
repair and other prep work will be done during the day. As part of this work, the severe pavement rutting on
westbound Fitzwatertown Road at Jenkintown Road will be repaired.
Road Resurfacing
Local road resurfacing program for 2008 is well underway. Township crews are out milling and overlaying sections of
roads that are due to be Ralumac in 2008. Residents will have access to their homes during this work. Township inlet
crews are also out repairing deteriorating inlet structures on the roads that will be paved in 2008. The 2008 Mill
and Overlay paving program will begin on or about 7/16/08. Portions of the following streets are scheduled to be
paved: Bannockburn Ave, Cedar Rd, E. Fiedler Ave, E. Ormandy Pl, Ft. Washington Ave, Kenmare Dr, Nash/Kenyon Dr,
Summit Ave, Maryland Dr and New Jersey Dr. All streets will be milled first and then the contactor will return to
pave them. Access to your homes will be provided.
Twining Road at Welsh Road - road project is continuing. There have been delays waiting on utilities to be relocated. Work will include the widening of Twining Road at Welsh Road. Work will be done during the hours of 9 AM and 3 PM. At least one lane on Twining Road will be kept open during the project until the final paving of the road is scheduled. Please be alert for traffic delays in the area.
Virginia Drive Maintenance - paving work will again be done on sections of Virginia Drive. Work should begin in August 2008.
Pothole Maintenance
Pothole maintenance on local roads is ongoing. Visit our pothole web page to determine if the road

All Township yard waste and leaves are taken to composting facilities where they are composted, turned into mulch and then offered to residents at no charge.

Residents are reminded that sidewalks must be cleared of snow and ice within 24 hours of the end of a winter storm in accordance with Ordinance #656. Compliance with this ordinance allows for safe pedestrian passage and will be enforced by the Upper Dublin Township Police Department.
