Upper Dublin Public Library seeks a permanent, part-time library front desk assistant. Upper Dublin Township announces an opening for a part time Inspector in the Code Enforcement Department. This position requires professionalism and attention to detail, with effective interpersonal and computer skills. Candidates should be responsible and self-starters have good organizational skills and follow-through abilities. The work involves contacts with public and private officials, and the ability to exercise good judgment and courtesy is essential. Duties include: performing scheduled inspections of rental units, plus follow-up inspections when needed; inspecting for-sale homes for property maintenance and fire safety compliance; and investigating violations of the Zoning and Property Maintenance Codes, including illegal signs, junk cars, tall grass, etc. The Codes Inspector will assist the Township Building Inspector and Fire Marshal on an as-needed basis with inspections or investigations; prepare Notices of Violation for review by the Code Enforcement Director; write-up reports for property files, and other associated tasks as needed. It is anticipated that at least one-half of the work hours will be spent in the field.
Qualifications: Pennsylvania driver’s license; high school diploma with college degree desirable. Must obtain ICC certification as a Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector, and Fire Inspector I within two years of hire. Building Inspection experience a plus but not mandatory. This position offers a minimum 20-hour workweek at a salary of $25.63 per hour.
