Special Meeting

A Reorganization Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Upper Dublin Township was held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 6:30 P.M., in the Township Building, Ira Tackel presiding.

In attendance were Commissioners Ira Tackel, Sharon Damsker, Ronald Feldman, Chester Derr, Stan Ropski, Rebecca Gushue and John Minehart.  Also present were Paul Leonard, Township Manager; Jonathan Bleemer, Township Finance Director; Richard Barton, Code Enforcement Director; Jeff Wert, Township Engineer; and District Justice Patricia Zaffarano.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

Mr. Tackel invited those in attendance to join in the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

ELECTION ANNOUNCEMENT:

Those elected at the November 2011 elections were:

·        John R. Minehart, Commissioner Ward 1

·        Chester H. Derr, III, Commissioner Ward 3

·        Rebecca A. Gushue, Commissioner Ward 5

·        Stanley J. Ropski, Commissioner Ward 7

 

ADMINISTRATION OF THE OATH OF OFFICE:

District Justice Patricia Zaffarano administered the oath of office to the aforementioned newly elected Township officials.

 

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS, PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS:

Mr. Feldman motioned, with Mr. Derr seconding, to nominate Ira Tackel to serve as President of the Board of Commissioners for the year 2012.

 

Nominations were closed.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS, VICE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS:

Mr. Tackel motioned, with Mr. Derr seconding, to nominate Ronald Feldman to serve as Vice President of the Board of Commissioners for the year 2012.

 

Nominations were closed.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS, CHAIRMAN OF THE VACANCY BOARD:

Mr. Feldman motioned, with Ms. Damsker seconding, to nominate Alice Hendrickson to serve as Chairperson of the Vacancy Board for a term ending December 31, 2012.

 

Nominations were closed.

COMMITTEE ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The various committees of the Board of Commissioners were formed as follows:

·        Economic Development and Finance Committee – Stanley Ropski, Chairperson; Ronald Feldman and Chet Derr.

·        Public Safety, Works and Services Committee – Ronald Feldman, Chairperson; Chet Derr and Stan Ropski.

·        Parks, Recreation and Library Committee – Sharon Damsker, Chairperson; Rebecca Gushue and John Minehart.

 

The Economic Development and Finance Committee will be held every other month beginning in February 2012 on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.

 

The Public Safety Works and Services Committee will be held every other month beginning in February 2012 on the first Tuesday of the month immediately following the Economic Development and Finance Committee meeting.

 

The Parks, Recreation and Library Committee will be held every other month beginning in February 2012 on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

Mr. Derr motioned, with Mr. Feldman seconding, to adjourn the meeting at 6:40 p.m. and enter into executive session.
