Citizen Boards and Commissions

Board and Commission Positions

Volunteer residents are sought to serve on several boards: Environmental Protection Advisory Board, Library Board, Shade Tree Commission, Zoning Hearing Board and Civil Service Commission. Citizen Board Applications are due to Township Manager's office by 06/01/2010.

Building Code Board of Appeals

The four members of the Building Code Board of Appeals (BCBA) of Upper Dublin Township are volunteers (re)appointed for a period of three years by the Board of Commissioners. This Board reviews appeals of the Uniform Construction Code of Pennsylvania. The BCBA meetings and hearings are held as requested in the township building and are open to the public. Civil Service Commission

The five members of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) of Upper Dublin Township are volunteers (re)appointed for a period of six years by the Board of Commissioners and one attorney appointed by the Board of Commissioners. This Board meets as needed on the call of the chairman.

Environmental Protection Advisory Board

The seven members of the Environmental Protection Advisory Board (EPAB) of Upper Dublin Township are volunteers (re)appointed for a period of three years by the Board of Commissioners. The EPAB either initiates or upon request advises the Board of Commissioners on issues relating to protecting the quality of water, land and air resources. The EPAB meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. Meetings are open to the public. More information on the EPAB web page.

Historical Commission

The seven members of the Historical Commission (HC) of Upper Dublin Township are volunteers (re)appointed for a period of three years by the Board of Commissioners. The HC seeks to foster awareness and appreciation of our community’s history, encourage the preservation of local resources, and offer information and assistance to residents and owners of commercial and residential properties. The HC meetings Meetings take place the fourth Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m., at the Township Building and are open to the public. More information on the HC web page.

Library Board

The seven members of the Upper Dublin Public Library Board (UDPLB) are volunteers (re)appointed for a period of three years by the Board of Commissioners. The UDPLB creates service standards and policy, and recommends funding for the Library. The UDPLB meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are open to the public. Planning Commission

The seven members of the Upper Dublin Planning Commission (PC) are volunteers (re)appointed for a period of three years by the Board of Commissioners. The PC actively reviews current planning issues, such as active development applications. It is also responsible for helping complete the longer range planning necessary to retain and enhance the quality and character of Upper Dublin Township. The PC meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are open to the public. More information on the PC web page.

Shade Tree Commission

The five members of the Upper Dublin Shade Tree Commission (STC) are volunteers (re)appointed for a period of five years by the Board of Commissioners. The STC was established by Ordinance, #870, that vests the Commission with "exclusive custody and control" of all Shade Trees. The STC meets the 3rd Thursday of every month at 3:30 p.m. Meetings are open to the public. More information on the STC web page.

Vacancy Board

The one member of the Upper Dublin Vacancy Board (VB) is a volunteer (re)appointed for a period of one year by the Board of Commissioners.

Zoning Hearing Board

The six members of the Upper Dublin Zoning Hearing Board (ZHB) are volunteers (re)appointed for a period of three years by the Board of Commissioners and one lawyer appointed by the Board of Commissioners. The ZHB meets the 4th Monday of every month at 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted. Meetings are open to the public. More information on the ZHB web page.
